Williamston Wrestling ClubBylaws Article 1 The name of this organization shall be the Williamston Wrestling Club. Article 2 The purpose of this organization shall be to assist and promote the wrestling program of the Williamston Community Schools in cooperation with the Board of Education, the Administration, and the Athletic Department. Article 3 Membership is open to all persons 18 years or older, not enrolled full time in high school, who have an interest in the school's wrestling program. Article 4 There shall be a membership roster kept but no dues will be assessed. Article 5 Section 1 - The officers of this club shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Events Coordinator, and Fund Raising Coordinator. Section 2 - These officers, the High School Head Wrestling Coach, and the immediate Past President shall constitute the Executive Board. Article 6 Section 1 - All officers shall be elected by active members present at the April meeting each year. They will be installed in office at the May meeting by the Past President. Section 2 - The term of office for all officers shall be for one (1) year unless reelected. Section 3 - Nomination of officers shall be made from the floor at the March meeting. Section 4 - These members shall be elected to office by ballot, except when the number of nominees does not exceed the number to be elected, in which case the election may be by voice vote. Section 5 - A majority vote of the members present at the election meeting shall be necessary for election. Section 6 - All retiring officers shall deliver to their successors all records, moneys, papers, or property of the club prior to the May meeting. Article 7 Section 1 - The duties of the officers shall be such as implied by their specific titles and as specified in these By-Laws. Section 2 - The President shall preside at all meetings of the club, of the Executive Board, and perform duties essential to the office. Section 3 - The Vice President shall perform all duties of the President in his or her absence. Section 4 - The Secretary shall conduct all correspondence of the club, preserve all letters, and keep the necessary records of the proceedings of the club and the Executive Board. Section 5 - The Treasurer shall keep an accurate account of all moneys received and expended by the club and shall make the books available, for audit, upon request of the Executive Board. Section 6 - The Event Coordinator shall oversee and facilitate tournaments, fund raising and other activities of the club. Section 7 - The Fund Raising Coordinator shall oversee the organization of all fund raising efforts of the club. Section 8 - The Executive Board shall appoint Committee Chairpersons for special projects, concessions and food service, banquets, etc. Article 8 Section 1 - The Executive Board as previously defined shall have power to transact all business referred to it by the club. Section 2 - Four (4) members of the Executive Board shall constitute a quorum of the board. Section 3 - A petty cash fund of $200.00 shall be available to the Treasurer to conduct financial transactions not approved at a regular meeting. Section 4 - A quorum of the Executive Board shall have the power to approve expenditures of up to $500.00 between regular meetings. Section 5 - Recoverable expenditures for the operation of tournaments, food service, and fund raisers, may be approved by the President. Article 9 Section 1 - Scheduled monthly meetings shall be the first Wednesday of each month from November through April and as needed during the balance of the year. Section 2 - Special meetings may be called by the President as necessary. Section 3 - All regular meetings shall be held in a location determined by the Executive Board. Article 10 In the event that this organization is to be dissolved, all funds and property in its possession shall be turned over to the Williamston Community Schools Athletic Department with the stipulation that these assets be used to support the wrestling program or, if no wrestling program exists, to support the overall athletic program. Article 11 Section 1 - These By-Laws shall be reviewed once a year by a committee appointed by the President; however amendments may be presented at a regular meeting. The members present will vote on consideration of amendments submitted and if such a consideration is approved, a final vote for acceptance will be made at the next regular meeting.
